Avery’s Obituary
MAPPLEBECK, Avery Earl ~ Age 56, of Victoria Harbour, Kings Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends on Friday, February 1, 2019, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, Kings Co., on April 20, 1962, he was a son of Donna J. (Cress) Mapplebeck, Morden and the late Phillip A. Mapplebeck. Avery had worked at Larsens Packers Ltd., Berwick for 29 years until the closure of the plant. He then worked for the last seven years at Black Stone Ridge Farm. Avery had operated his own hobby farm for many years and was passionate about his horses, cattle, chickens and dogs. He was a member of the Western Nova Scotia Draft Horse Association. Avery was devoted to his family and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Besides his mother, Donna Mapplebeck and her companion Doug Patterson, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Linda D. Martin; sons, Cory (Toni) Mapplebeck, Berwick; Drew (Kristina Keddy) Mapplebeck, Victoria Harbour; grandchildren, Joe, Josh, Kirsten and Austin; sisters, Louise (Eric) Finley, Morden; Alma (Ronald) Acker, Victoria Harbour; Debbie (Brian) Hodges, Aylesford; brother, Tim (Linda Brewster) Mapplebeck, Victoria Harbour; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448, from where funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 6. Rev. Isaac Russell officiating, with interment in Aylesford Union Cemetery. A reception will follow in Aylesford & District Fire Hall.
