SCHLECHTER: Arthur (Art) Wayne
With heavy hearts and deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Arthur (Art) Schlechter on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Our husband, father and papa was honest, hardworking and loyal. We knew we were loved deeply, as we loved him. He had an impish personality, too, and loved teasing and playing jokes, a soul with spice and vinegar.
He loved life to the full and lived it well, had faith in his God and was a good neighbor and friend.
His career spanned work at the Regina Inn, Calgary Inn and Regina Exhibition Park. He loved the annual summer fair and met some amazing people with whom he cherished a relationship for decades.
He leaves behind his wife, Diane, son Tyson (Judy) and the “apple of his eye” his granddaughter, Raechel. He is predeceased by his mother, father, sister and brother. He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers Jim (Betty), Joe (Patti), Mark (Sheila) and Ralph, his sisters Joan and Loretta (Dave), his in-laws Ken, Garry, Gus (Bette), Kelly (Dianne), his sister-in-law Darlene (Bob), numerous nieces and nephews with whom he could always be counted on to indulge in a teasing encounter of one sort or another.
In lieu of flowers and if you wish, a donation can be offered to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Hospitals of Regina Foundation or a charity of your choice.
The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held in St. Rita’s Roman Catholic Church in Strasbourg Sk on Friday February 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
