De IURE, Aristide.
Entered into rest in the arms of the Lord on Thursday, February 14th, 2019 at the
Hamilton General Hospital, in his 87th year. Aristide peacefully passed surrounded by
his loving family. Survived by his loving wife, Gina (nee De Rosa) of 52 years. Loving
father to his only daughter Giulia and son-in-law Leo Guttaiano. Proud and devoted
nonno of Gemma and Alessandro. Predeceased by his parents Nicola and Bambina (nee
Sarchese), his siblings: Giulia De Iure and Mafalda Boletta (Giuseppe). Aristide will be
sadly missed by his brother, Ercole (Carmela), sister Giovina Santamicone (late
Domenico), brother Alberto (Aurelia), and sister Antonietta Dinuzio (late Angelo).
Predeceased by his in-laws Carmine and Serafina (nee Naccarato) De Rosa. Brother in
law to the late Luigi and Chiarina Siciliano and the late Domenic and Melina De Rosa.
He will be missed by many nephews and nieces, cousins, family, and friends in
Canada, USA, and Italy. Aristide was born on February 26th, 1932 in Ortona, Chieti,
Abruzzo, Italy and emigrated to Canada in 1957. Aristide worked for 25 years at JI
Case Int. and enjoyed his retirement years tending to his vegetable garden, making
wine from his home-grown grapes, and playing cards with friends. He had a passion for
cycling and bowling, where he was awarded many trophies for his achievements.
Death: February 14, 2019
Visitations will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E on
Monday, February 18th 2019 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Vigil prayers at 8 pm. Funeral
Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 at
10 am. Entombment to follow at Bayview Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be
made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Always in our hearts; rest in peace.
