Theresa Terry Anne Mullin October 28 1949 January 31 2019 (age 69)

Ms. Terry (Theresa Anne) Mullin of Saint John, NB, born October 28,1949 in Newcastle, NB; attended her last meeting on January 31, 2019 at Saint John Regional Hospital with family in attendance. She adjourned the meeting, assigned tasks and moved on.
Terry was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Kelly) Mullin of Trout Brook Miramichi. She was predeceased by her parents and her infant sister Cecelia.
Terry is survived by 2 brothers, Ben (Helen) Mullin and Aloysius (Leanne) Mullin of Trout Brook, Miramichi: 4 sisters: Patricia (Fred) Tozer, Marilyn Mullin, Bernadette Mullin all of Moncton and Colleen (Ken Fletcher) Mullin of Summerside. She was very close to her nieces and nephews; Greg, Lisa, Jerry, Roger, Kirk, Jon, Charles, Kyle and Morgan and 7 grandnieces and grandnephews as well as many cousins.
She was proud of her long and deep history of Irish ancestry (sometimes to the dismay and boredom of her friends). That may very well be where she inherited her imagination and love of storytelling and sometimes some drama.
Terry is now travelling on to another adventure. Travel seems an appropriate word. She delighted in hopping on a motor coach and taking people to many wonderful places (real or imaginary); sharing fact, fiction and sometimes “faction” along the way. She delighted in entertaining people with her many stories whether it was family, students, colleagues, tour passengers, or the many people she met, perhaps even some unsuspecting tourist trying to understand the Reversing Falls.
Of course, she practiced and refined her skill of managing groups, organizing events, leading, directing and initiating projects on her many thousands of students, staff and parents during her 35 years of teaching in Saint John at Champlain Heights, Bayside Junior, and Saint Joseph’s schools and finishing her career as principal at Simonds Middle School. Lest she got bored she decided to take a very active role in the NBTA, serving 2 terms as President of District 8(20). One never told Terry that it couldn’t be done. These words only ignited her determination.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Terry has asked that we gather together and join in a reminiscence of her life where we tell stories and jokes about her. This Celebration of Life event will be held in the theatre on the second floor of Reversing Falls restaurant from 1:30 to 4:30pm on February 10, 2019.
In recent years Terry has had a passion for painting and her art work will be displayed at this event. Anyone interested in having one of Terry’s painting is asked to choose a painting to take and deposit an appropriate donation into the onsite collection box. The proceeds of this collection will be donated to Bobby’s Hospice of Saint John.
Terry left a note for us
She says:
I want each and every one of you to know that I cherished and valued the relationships and friendships I had with all who I’ve met along my travels, throughout my life and varied experiences. I’ve learned so much from all of you. To my family, I Thank You for being so patient with me and being so there for me. I’m sure I tested you many times along the way.
From early childhood I remember that I questioned everything; sometimes I was good, sometimes I was bad and sometimes I was very, very bad. Just like the girl in the verse quoted to me:
There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very, very good,
But when she was bad, she was horrid
A very special life-long friend often quoted, “I’m a part of all I have met” and you should all know that you enriched my life.
I had a great time while I was here. I was never bored or at a loss for things to do. But I like to think that I didn’t rest on my laurels and did some good while here. I liked to get into things. I thoroughly enjoyed my career as guidance counsellor. I always said, “Give me a 15-16-year-old with issues and I’m in my element”.
The Belfast Children’s Vacation Project, Irish Cultural Association, The Saint John Art Club Inc. and celebrating my Irish roots were favorites close to my heart, and of course my 2nd career as a tour director was my greatest thrill.
Anyway, it is now time to say good-bye. I’m inviting family and friends to join in a celebration of my life by getting together on February 10 from 1:30 to 4:30 at the theatre on the second floor of Reversing Falls restaurant. My favorite music will be playing, refreshments will be served. Bring your stories and jokes and toast me.
Good Bye,
Love Terry
