Sadly on Monday January 28 in her 83rd year. Predeceased by husbands John Pyper and Leo Moloughney. Fondly remembered by son Kenneth Pyper (Wendy), grandson Nicholas Pyper (Chantal Atkins), and great-grandchildren Peyton and Bryden. Sister of Willis Todd (Joy) and the late Elva Shay (late Everett) and Melba Racicot (late Bert). Dearly missed by her niece Marlyn Deschamps (Rob) and her nephews Barry Pyper (Corinne) and Mike Moloughney as well as many relatives in the Todd, Pyper and Moloughney families.
Grace was a mail driver for two decades in the Manotick area. She was also a school bus driver for more than thirty years, transporting children safely to schools including Manotick Public School and St Mark High School as well as charters throughout Ottawa and Hull. Grace’s love of music drew her to several Old Time Fiddlers Associations where she played the piano at many of their monthly dances. Her extracurricular fun was playing darts in the Manotick Legion Dart League where she kept her team excited with her ability to get an out and win games.
Most recently, Grace’s greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandson Bryden, watching his newfound abilities like crawling, walking and trying to talk. She was always interested in how he was doing. She sat at her kitchen table every day, surrounded by photos of Bryden and commented “look at that little devil laughing at me”.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St (between Scrivens Dr and Metcalfe Corner) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday February 4. Funeral Tuesday in the Chapel at 11 am. Spring Interment Johnston’s Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Dementia Society or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
Special thanks to the kind people who stopped and performed CPR at the scene. Many thanks to the EMS for their prompt arrival and professional attention. We also wish to thank the Ottawa Police officers for their many hours of work in sub-zero temperatures.
