Christopher Ivan McCoy 2019

Christopher Ivan McCoy
January 8, 1992 – February 27, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Christopher Ivan McCoy, husband of Lucy (Young) McCoy, announces his tragic passing on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Left to treasure his life and cherish his memories in addition to his wife are his precious children Ivan and Davy McCoy, parents Paul and Corilee (Price) McCoy; sister Jenna (Jeffrey) O’Donnell of Maugerville, NB; maternal grandparents Joan Doherty of Fredericton and Wynn (Patricia) Price of McNamee; paternal grandparents Royden McCoy of Maugerville, NB, and Yvette and Joe Monteith of Oromocto, NB; uncles Jamie (Rayma) Price of Keswick, NB, Dale (Nancy) McCoy of Maugerville, NB, Lee (Erin) McCoy of Blackfalds, AB; cousins Jacob, Gracie and Matthew Price of Keswick, NB, Emily and Hanna McCoy of Maugerville, NB, Colten McCoy of Blackfalds, AB. Also survived by his parents-in-law Mary Young and Bryan Young, brother-in-law Nicholas Young, and sisters-in-law Gianna (David) Cote, Adrianna (Matthew) Mills, Angelica Young, and Isabel Young.
A graduate of Leo Hayes High School, and University of New Brunswick Engineering, Chris was employed by the Province of New Brunswick, Department of Environment and Local Government, where he will be greatly missed. Chris had a plan for his life and was well underway executing that plan. He packed as much as humanly possible into his short 27 years, and on the top of his list of accomplishments were finding and marrying the love of his life, Lucy, and giving life to his children Ivan and Davy. Chris adored his children and would do anything for their best interest. Chris loved everything that took place outdoors like hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling, but even more so since he has been able to share them with his boys. Anyone who knew Chris would know he never went far without his hunter’s orange baseball cap or his cowboy boots, including on his wedding day. Chris had a radiant smile and was capable of conjuring laughter in any situation. His smile and laugh will forever be imprinted in our memories.
Chris was predeceased by great-grandparents Ivan and Jean McCoy, Norman and Eva Price and Amabalis and Alban Cormier.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, March 02, 2019 from 2 to 5 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Saint Dunstan’s Church, Fredericton on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 12:05 pm with Father Bill Brennan as celebrant. Interment will take place at the Maugerville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to make a special thanks to, First Responders, Emergency Department and the ICU at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Education Fund for Ivan and Davy. Personal condolences may
