Ronald L. Cooper
1941-2019
Passed away at the Placentia Health Centre on February 25,
2019, Ronald L. Cooper, of Dunville, formerly of Jackson, Michigan,
USA, at the age of 77.
Predeceased by his mom and dad, his brothers Tom and Bob, mom
and dad Dollmont, sisters-in-law Kit and Stella, and brother-in-law
Jim.
He leaves to mourn his wife Loretta, of 52 years; brother
Leonard Cooper; step-brother Chuck Wymer; sister-in-law Vi; the
Dollmont family – Joe (Linda), Irene (Doug), Jackie (Glenn), Beth
(John), Jack, and Nick; many nieces, nephews and other extended family
members; as well as his special friends Flo and Mark Chesney, Bern and
Ken Schabell, and Gary Lake.
Ron came to the U.S. Naval Base in Argentia, NL in 1965 as a
Marine Sergeant.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral Home,
Placentia. Visitation to take place on Tuesday from 7pm to
9pm, and Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Funeral
Service to take place at Maher’s Funeral Home on Thursday, February
28th at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary
Cemetery, Freshwater.

  1. My deepest sympathy goes out to Loretta and family, I am so sorry I cannot be there to attend the funeral. A great man has left us and will never be forgotten. Ron and my father Mark Chesney, were best friends and it was like I had two Great men to look up to growing up, the memories of hunting and fishing together I will never forget. Ron may you rest in peace and we will all see you some day.
