Smith, Philip Glen “Flipper”
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip Glen Smith (Flipper), on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, he was in his 71st year. Beloved husband of and best friend of 46 years to Vicky Smith. Cherished father of Natasha Tremblay and Eric Smith. Proud grandfather of Liam Smith, Raya Smith, Sadie Tremblay, Logan Smith and Xavier Smith. Philip will be sadly missed by his siblings Paula Desrosiers (Ted), Karen Koba, Larry Smith (Mary) and Donald Smith (Yvette). He was born in Englehart and is predeceased by his parents Cecil & Emmy Smith. Philip’s favorite past times were Golf and Bowling. He loved to coach and mentor bowlers young and old. He was actively involved with Partners YBC for many years. Our sincerest thank you to CCU and Dr. McDougall at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Also unending gratitude to Care Partners VON’s Shelby and Jake, above and beyond the call. Thanks to Officers Dinsmore and Baronette for the patience and kindness. Respecting Philip’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. A Celebration of Life will take place at Osprey Links Golf Course on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., there will be a service at 3:00 p.m. If desired, donations to the Partners YBC would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. “Now we are free, I will see you again, but not yet…not yet.” Arrangements entrusted to MARTYN FUNERAL HOME.
