Obituary of Lloyd Van Horn
VAN HORN: Lloyd George –
A resident of Chatham, Lloyd Van Horn passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the age of 74.
Born on Manitoulin Island, Lloyd was the son of the late Franklin and Rena (Bryant) Van Horn.
Beloved husband of almost 45 years to Judy (nee Regier).
Loving father of Lonnie Van Horn (wife Deb) of London, Shannon Van Horn of Rodney, Shane Van Horn (wife Ange) of Bothwell, Justin Van Horn (wife Rachelle) of Chatham and Jeannine Hewings of Chatham.
Proud Grandpa of Brody, Kieran; Jordan, Sophie; Autum, Damon; Ava and Carson.
Great-Grandpa to Jax.
Dear brother Shirley Haggard of Ft. Wayne, Michigan. Predeceased by his siblings Glen, John, Beverly, Betty Lou and Delbert.
Son-in-law to Frank and Doreen (Overholt) Regier of Exeter.
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Lloyd was a hard worker and provider as a trucker for 47 years. He loved to tell stories and jokes and enjoyed life and a good laugh.
He could often be found playing pool and cards at Active Lifestyle Centre. He was a die-hard Blue Jays fan, enjoyed watching and participating (as a young adult) in Auto Racing and loved his Tim Horton’s Coffee Club.
Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Lloyd’s Life at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 463 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
Donations made in memory of Lloyd to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Active Lifestyle Centre or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
