1963-2019
Darlene Marie (Ryerson) Halbersma – age 55, of
Coldbrook, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at home.
Darlene was born in Berwick Hospital
(Western Kings Memorial Hospital) on May 5, 1963 to Kenneth and
Pauline (Foster) Ryerson of Auburn, NS. Darlene was employed by the
Nova Scotia Health Authority for 16 years as an unregistered
Cardiology Technologist at the Valley Regional Hospital. She was a
member of New Minas Baptist Church and served on the
Church’s Social Committee for eight years. She was a
homemaker and wife to her husband of 37 years, Rudy Halbersma and was
also a devoted mother to her two sons, William (Minji Sue) and Joseph,
as well as her brothers and sisters, Robert Ryerson (Andrea), Tina
Hatt (Steven), Timothy Ryerson (Rhonda) and Scott Ryerson (Melanie).
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service
at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, both in the New Minas
Baptist Church. A private family burial will take place in the
Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society or the Valley Hospice Foundation. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
