Anne – It is with heavy hearts that
we the family of Anne Stone of Port Hawkesbury, NS, announce her
passing on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, in the Strait Richmond
Hospital, at the age of 80. She was the youngest daughter of the late
Michael and Anna Belle (MacLennan) MacDonald.
Anne is survived by sisters, Margaret Hart and Mary Trainor;
brother, Lennan MacDonald (Irma Clancy). Anne is also survived by her
maternal aunt, Zena (MacLennan) Saule. She was predeceased by
brothers-in-law, Donald Hart and Dr. Royden Trainor; nephews; John
Clifford Trainor, Mark MacDonald (both in infancy) and niece, Jill
Taylor; grand nephew, Matthew Taylor.
Anne’s greatest joy was her family; and friends she
considered family. She was happiest spending time with them; holding
special places in her heart for each of her friends, siblings,
cousins, nieces, nephews and especially her grand nieces and nephews.
We will all miss her loving ways and unconditional
love.
Anne was a graduate of St. Rita Hospital, School of Nursing;
Class of ’61. Anne was a faithful member of St. Joseph
Parish, Port Hawkesbury.
This past year she has been a resident of the Port Hawkesbury
Nursing Home where she was lovingly cared for. A special thank you to
the dedicated nursing home staff, Strait Richmond Hospital Emergency
and Palliative Care Teams, as well as exceptional care from Dr.
Collins and Dr. Pluta.
In keeping with Anne’s wishes there will be no
visitation. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Cemetery Fund
or a charity of your choice. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
St. Joseph Parish, Port Hawkesbury on Saturday, February 16 at 10 a.m.
with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial at a later
date. Arrangements under the care and direction of the Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort
