Obituary of Martin MacNeil
MACNEIL – Martin Roy (Godin): Passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 after a tragic accident, of Simcoe in his 35th year. Much beloved husband of Sheena (nee Wark). Proud father of Finnegan, Eoin, and Danica. Much loved son of Laura MacNeil (Mike Guest) and Andy Godin and step son of Malcolm Almeida. Son-in-law of Robert (Cork) and Diana Wark. Also surviving is his brother Matthew Almeida, step-brother Steven Guest, brother and sister-in-law Chris and Kristie Wark, grandparents Annie MacNeil, Lynn and Stanley Godin, aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and his many friends. Martin was a high school teacher for the Grand Erie School Board, a union rep., a Volunteer Fire Fighter with Simcoe/Norfolk Fire Service, a football coach, an occasional hockey coach. Martin cycled the Battlefields Wounded Warriors Bike Ride through France, 700+km, he cycled the Highway of Heroes Wounded Warriors Bike Ride, Trenton to Toronto with his mother, stepfather Malcolm Almeida. He attended St. Brunettes and was a proud Clarke Road Trojan, Nipissing U for general studies and Lakehead U for his Teacher’s Degree. Martin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Alter Server). A private cremation will take place. A Celebration of Martin’s Life will be announced at a later date.
