William Autterson
Peacefully, with his family by his side, on January 18, 2019 at 92 years of age. Beloved husband of 67 years to Julia “Judy”. Loving and devoted father of Jill (Greig) Hayes, Bill (Maryann), Alex, Judy Anne (Doug Parent), Jessica (Andy) Root, Barb (Dave) Bonney, Robin (Mark) Body, Gordon (John), and Tracy (Derrick) Tamm. Cherished grandpa to 14 grandchildren and will be missed by his great and great-great grandchildren. Survived by sister Barbara. Predeceased by siblings Gordon, Jessie, Mae and Clarence. Also survived by his nieces, nephews and cousins.
William was a WWII Veteran, serving with HCMS North Bay. He was retired from Bell Canada after 35 years of service.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Huron Lodge, their special staff and to William’s “Girls” for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Ginna for her support and friendship.
If you so desire, donations to Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor & Es County or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Visiting Tuesday 3-5pm and 7-9pm with parish prayers at 4:30pm and a Veteran’s Memorial Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran’s Memorial Service Committee at 7:30pm at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Wednesday, friends are invited to join the family after 9:30am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (4401 Mt. Royal Dr.) followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Cremation to follow.
