Shadd, Wilbert Arthur
Wilbert passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the CKHA-Chatham Campus at the age of 95.
Wilbert was born on October 27, 1923 and was the son of the late Phillip Shadd and Gertrude Jones.
Wilbert was a member of the North Buxton Community Church. He will always be remembered as an avid motorcyclist and for his single-minded opinions “commonly known as stubbornness”.
Beloved husband of the late Janet Corrine (Wright) Shadd (2002).
Loving father of Trudy Shadd and Joe Jefferson, Lynda Shadd, Wilma and the late Dennis Robert, Janice Corbin-Shadd and Olanda, Sherry Shadd, Willy Shadd and Edna Cornwall Shadd and Warren Shadd and Linda Bembridge.
Sadly missed by 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers, Leslie and Edwin (Dolores).
The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral Service will take place at North Buxton Community Church on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1 p.m.
Donations in memory of Wilbert to the Alzheimer Society, The Diabetes Association or The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
