Steven Kent Berfelz, of RR#1 Walkerton, tragically was taken away from us on Friday, January 4, 2019. He was 53.
Born on July 22, 1965 in Listowel to Doreen (nee McClennan) Schuler and George Berfelz. Steven, a dedicated family man, not only to his wife and children but he was a father figure to many others. Steve enjoyed his son’s hockey and taking his family to the French River each year. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Steve logged trees for over 35 years and farmed for 12 years. He was a Harley man and often talked about his bike trip with his wife across Canada. Steve was a friendly man that could definitely hold his own. He will be greatly missed.
Survived by his loving wife and best friend Lorianne Campbell of RR#1 Walkerton. Devoted father of Sky, Blue, Onyx and Cheyenne Berfelz. Loving father of Kevin (Laura) McEachern-Zoer and special father figure to Casey Wesley, Ashley Wesley, Tylar McNabb, McKenzie Steinhoff and her children Phoenix and Kohana and Taylor Steinhoff. Son of Doreen (Frank) Schuler of Mildmay and George Berfelz of Listowel and son in law of Butch (Marilyn) Campbell of Durham. Remembered by his brothers Bill (Pat) Berfelz, Paul (Cherri Lynn) Berfelz, Doug (Barb) Berfelz all of Listowel and sister Sherri (Fred) Fotheringham of Palmerston, brother in law of Mark (Christina) Campbell of Bowmanville. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families.
A private family visitation and interment was held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Brant Township. Friends and family are invited to share memories and support the family on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at The Knights of Columbus Hall – Walkerton from 1- 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to a Trust fund for the children would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
