Obituary of Stanley Robson
Stanley Brian Robson
February 16 1944 – January 2 2019
Stan leaves behind Sydney, his beloved wife of 52 years, his daughters Sheree (Todd) MacNinch and Shawn (Richard) Watson and grandchildren Maggy, Evalyn, Rachel & Trenton. Also survived by siblings Karen Mitchinson, Kelvin (Mary) Robson, Barbara Robson, KC (Virginia) MacLean, Aunts Olive Plato and Marge Burtt. Predeceased by his parents James & Edna and brother William. He will be remembered by employees of Foster Wheeler & ES Fox LTD. Anyone who knew Stan knew he was not a sentimental kind of guy but who preferred to show his affection by jumping in and lending a hand. The last few years have been a real battle, to which we thank all that have supported him and us through this time. He was the kind of guy who enjoyed quiet times on the porch talking to Sydney and family about everyday things, playing a tune on the violin or guitar or enjoying a road trip in the truck. Stan was a big softie when it came to his grandchildren & nieces/nephews and always enjoyed spending time with them. He loved his family, his friends, and if they could be all at the cottage together then life was good. Sitting on the dock at the cottage watching the sunset on the river with a cold drink in his hand, tapping his foot and humming a tune, that’s how he would want to be remembered. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Glen Elgin Room at Balls Falls on Saturday January 12, 2019 from 4 – 8 pm. Special Toast to Stan at 5 pm and reception to follow. Donations to the Sunset Music Series Rotary Club of Lincoln or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
