Obituary
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth on the 24th day of January.. in her 69th year after what can only be described as a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
With the help of family, friends and support groups Ruth was able to die peacefully at her home with her family by her side.
Ruth leaves behind her loving friend and husband of 35 years Tony, her children Shawn (Tracey), Erin, Toni (Brandon) and her grandchildren Ben, Ethan and baby Sophie.
Survived by her sisters Sheila, Ilene(Mick) and darlene (Derek)
Ruth was an exceptional friend to many and will be sadly missed.
Our sincere thanks to Dr KO and the staff and nursing team at the Sunnybrook Odette cancer center, the palliative care team at Oshawa lake ridge hospital and her in-home team from Paramed.
In honour of her wishes there will be a celebration of life in early summer, when everyone can celebrate Ruth’s life in the manner Ruth loved most. Good times with good friends and family with lots of music and celebrations.
The family would Like to invite those who wish to drop by and Visit to attend a small reception at the family home situated at 633 Buchan Avenue Oshawa on Friday and Saturday afternoons, January 25th and 26th between 1-6pm, casual attire please.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Odette cancer centre at Sunnybrook hospital.
