Obituary of Richard Boucher
BOUCHER, Richard “Butch”
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Richard “Butch” Boucher, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Proud Papa to Harper, Jordynn and Tarynn, and devoted father to Shannon (Chris) and Erin (Ryan). Brother to Bill (Margaret), Barbara, and Mike (Patti), brother-in-law to Darlene (Ron) and Wayne (Bev) Harper. Treasured son-in-law to Sharon Harper. Predeceased by parents, Vera and Harvey Boucher, and brother Ron. Beloved uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. Butch proudly wore Badge #26 with the Hamilton Police Service (1975-2008), but was an officer to the end, as evidenced by the many HPS visitors and well-wishers in hospital. We wish to thank the many friends and neighbours for your constant love, support and help to both Butch and his family. Special thanks to Dr. R. Sur and Dr. O. Levine (“The Man”) and their teams, who guided us on this journey with frankness and empathy. Also, to Dad’s nurses, Diane, Sandra and Tracy, all of whom brought a sparkle to Dad’s eye every time he saw them, and whose kindness on this journey will never be forgotten. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Rd., Hamilton, on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
