Richard Theroux of

On January 22, 2019, Richard Theroux passed away in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 83 years. He will be remembered and forever missed by his wife of 18 years, Nora Clemenger, his brothers Emile (Barbara) and Albert (Pat) of Lethbridge, Aime (Ena) of St. Albert and sister Roxanne Limoges of Claresholm, sisters-in-law Jean Marie Clemenger of Calgary, Laurel (Dion) Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jamie (Sara) Clemenger of Hamilton, and numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfrid and Alma, and his brother Rene.
He served the people of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton as a priest for 40 years until his retirement in 2000, when he was granted laicization. For the next 18 years Richard and Nora lived in Edmonton and Scottsdale, Arizona, and traveled extensively on his beloved Honda Goldwing motorcycle.
Richard loved biking and made many trips around North America and through Europe with his brothers, nephews and biker friends.
Richard’s lifework was one of service to others – to family, friends, parishioners and neighbours. He daily lived as Jesus taught: “I was hungry and you gave me food, thirsty and you gave me something to drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you gave me clothing, sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me. … just as you have done it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
Donations may be made in Richard’s memory to Dreams for Kids, 10425 – 84 Avenue, Edmonton T6E 2H3, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, to the charity of your choice, or in acts of loving kindness to others.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Richard Theroux of..
