Obituary of Phyllis Lavers
LAVERS, Phyllis Mildred
The family of Phyllis Mildred Lavers, 83, of Three Mile Plains, is saddened to announce her passing, following a brief illness, on January 13, 2019 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.
Phyllis was born in Mosherville to the late William Cecil and Ethel Georgia (Nix) Anthony. Mom spent her life raising a large family, working with her husband in a family business, and volunteering for her church and her community. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, quilting and other handiwork. Mom also enjoyed spending her time with her friends at the Glider’s Club.
Phyllis is survived by sons, Hal (Joy), Wade (Tina); daughters, Marianne, Wanda (Kevin) Lantz, Vicki (Shawn Eldridge); grandchildren, Ryan, Timothy (Megan), Traci (Robert), Josh (Krysta), Lydia (Dylan), Alex (Jade), Lacey (Jeff), Justin, Brody, Kayla and Nicholas; ten great-grandchildren with another soon to arrive; sister, Audrey Woodman; brothers, Ronald (Verna) Anthony, Blair (Mary) Anthony; sister-in-law, Juanita Anthony; brother-in-law, Ben MacLeod; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Harold Morris; daughter, Beth; siblings, Marjorie (Carl) Rhodes, Kenneth Anthony and June MacLeod.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the Cardiac Care Units at the QEII for their care and dedication during mom’s last days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held Wednesday, January 16 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 17 at 2 p.m., in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor, Rev. Karen Lynch officiating. Interment will take place afterward in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King St., Windsor. A reception will follow in the Three Mile Plains Community Hall, 4474 Hwy 1. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to Windsor United Church, PO Box 243, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or the Windsor Senior Citizen Bus Society, PO Box 425, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
