Rota, Olga Fortunata (nee Barone) 1931 – 2019 – Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on January 4, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
Olga was born in Cosenza, Italy on May 25th, 1931 to the late Giuseppe & Maria (nee Vilotta) Barone. She was predeceased by her husband Sam Rota. Loving mother of Anthony Rota (Chantal), Sam Rota Junior and Claudia Black (Richard). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Samantha Rota, Liam Black, Julia Black & Alexandria Black. Also survived by her siblings, Carmela Barone and Annamaria Spadafora (Rafaele). She was also predeceased by her sister Adele Pellegrino (Antonio) and brothers Antonio Barone and Francesco Barone (Anna).
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Jinnah and the loving and compassionate staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre who worked tirelessly to provide comfort and support during this difficult time.
Family will receive friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd. on Monday January 7, 2019 from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption on Tuesday January 8, 2019 at 10 am.
Donations in memory of Olga Rota to the Canadian Cancer Society or the North Bay Serenity Hospice will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
