Colborne, Muriel Sadie – 97, Amherst and formerly of Oxford passed away Friday, January 18th, 2019, In Northumberland Hall, Amherst. Born in River Philip, she was a daughter of the late Byron and Rachel (Powers) Matheson.
She is survived by daughter, Melba (Deb), Nanaimo, BC; sons, Carl (Cheryl), Fairmont, BC; Peter (Shawnee), Cranbrook, BC; sisters, Ione (Bill) Edgett, Amherst ; Freda Dickie, Mount Pleasant; Launa Dickie, Amherst; Grandchildren Krissy, Theresa, Emily, Greg, Darren and Julie; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Muriel was predeceased by her husband Russell; Sons, Monty and Ray; sisters Orisy, Leona and Thelma; brothers, Ray, Cliff and Malcolm.
The family will receive visitors Wednesday, January 23 from 12 to 1 pm followed immediately by a service to celebrate Muriel’s life at 1 pm all in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (447-2930). Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mmcfunerals.com
