MOORE Jordan Philip November 12 1984 – January 22 2019

MOORE, Jordan Philip
November 12, 1984 – January 22, 2019
Jordan was born on November 12, 1984. He was the third-born of seven children to parents Ken and Margaret Moore. He is survived by his parents, and siblings Cristin, Jason, Justin, Caitlin, Carly and John. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Julia and Erin, and nephews Andrey, Aaron, William and Noah, and niece, Marina, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jordan has always been a vibrant, tender-hearted and hardworking man who loved to experience life in every sensory way. He enjoyed listening to and playing music (rock, metal, soul, jazz, to even classical and beyond), and was exceptionally talented at the electric guitar and harp. Reading and writing poetry was a deep part of his essence; he had a vivid imagination and a colourful way with words. He found great peace in immersing himself in nature, whether it was hiking, camping, or watching the stars from his hammock. He loved to longboard along the Bow River and all around the city. He excelled at working with his hands, specializing in woodcraft and various artistic ventures and he loved growing and tending to his many and varied plants. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, from playing board games to gathering around a campfire.
Jordan was an amazing, inspiring and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was one in a million, an unforgettable and honorable man. He worked hard on the construction of the new library in downtown Calgary, and perhaps you will think of him when you see it.
On January 22, 2019, Jordan was on a typical evening walk in Kensington, Calgary. Jordan saw an altercation in an alley and acted in a noble and brave manner by intervening to protect someone. He was fatally wounded and passed away in Foothills hospital, a hero, surrounded by his loving family.
There will be a memorial service on Monday January 28, 2019 at 3:30 at the Journey Church on Eamon Road in N.W. Calgary. Jordan will be greatly and intensely missed.
“In the end, we will have this; That we persevered: In love, in faith, in hope, however dim — And that if we seemed to fail in our endeavors, We did not fail to persevere.”
— Jordan Moore
