Monica Steele at the age of 87 passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the IOOF Home, Barrie with her loving family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband Jim Steele and survived by her two daughters Theresa Restemayer and her husband Ed, Kathleen Dickey and her husband Bob. Grandchildren Brett Restemayer and his wife Robin, Amy Chop and her husband Christopher, Alex Dickey and his partner Ashley Hiltz, Melissa Felton and husband Darryl and great grandchildren Maxwell, Elliot, Aubrey, Nicholas, Logan, Riley, Ruby and Olivia. Monica is also survived by her sister Nancy (Glen) Chadwell and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her twin sister Veronica (the late June) Markle, Mary (the late Harold) Anderson, Margaret (the late Art) Paquette and brothers Raymond (the late Jackie) Weiler, Sandy (Doreen) Weiler, Bob (Gail) Weiler and Linda Newman. Monica will be forever remembered by her sisters in-law Margaret Steele and Vivian Steele and brother in-law Harry (Patricia) Steele along with many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME 445 St. Vincent Street (just north of Cundles Road), Barrie on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10 o’clock a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie. Interment St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Barrie. Memorial donations to the IOOF Home or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
