Obituary of Mickey Roscoe
Mickey Charles Roscoe, a resident of Dawson Creek, formerly of Fort Nelson, BC passed away on January 11, 2018 in Dawson Creek, at the age of 30 years.
Mickey was born at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, AB. July 12, 1988. We lived in several small towns in AB while he was in elementary school but once we moved north to Fort Nelson in 2000 it became home. His 30 short years on this planet were filled with doing things as colorful as possible and absolutely done his way regardless of the consequences; therefore, making school years very interesting. On more than one occasion I would drive around for hours looking for him while he was out skipping school usually to find him hanging out with his accomplice, Chris Kerr. It turned out he and Chris would remain such close friends for the rest of his life. It was hard to believe such a wild child could be an honor roll student, but he was until his secret got out and since that would ruin his image he left school for bigger and better things in grade 11.
His first adventure into the world once he left home took him to Dawson Creek where he made many friends who he considered family. From there his adventures took him to Saskatchewan, AB and eventually back in to BC where he lived in the Vancouver area for 10 years. While down in Vancouver he met and married his sweetheart Brittney, who he really enjoyed traveling to several destinations across the world with. After divorcing they remained friends and Mickey continued to travel thus taking a trip of a lifetime with long time friend, Cory to Mexico. It only took about 4 hours for Mickey to disappear for about 8 hours while down there making new friends and having a wild adventure earning himself the nickname Senior Mick by the locals.
He always had the time of his life including taking a trip north of Fort Nelson to Muncho Lake with Wade on July 1. He talked about how amazing the mountains were and how he really needed to get back into shape as the hiking was brutal, but he loved every minute of it. His final travels took him eventually took him back to Dawson Creek where he reconnected with old friends.
He always had a huge smile and a joke or two to tell thus making him friends everywhere he went, keeping them for the remainder of his days. He also had many interests from making rap music, drawing, tattooing, traveling, camping, hiking, fishing, to renovating houses and demolition.
After battling depression for many years he chose to end his life on January 11, 2019 while living in Dawson Creek. He will be greatly missed by his mother Heather, stepfather Peter, brothers Jason & Dustin (Saber), little sister Rayanne, his niece Aaliyah & nephew Kylar, his grandpa Henry Roscoe, and his grandmother Margaret Young. He will be also missed by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his friends that he considered brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Mickey’s life will be held in Fort Nelson on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Elks Hall. His ashes will be separated and spread in several areas in BC and AB.
