Michelle Hetherton, age 56, passed away December 18, 2018 after a short stay at Clover House Palliative Care Unit. A funeral mass was held January 5, 2019 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Parish, with Rev. Msgr. Reymundo Asis officiating. A tribute to Michelle’s life was given by nephew, Scott Hunter. “Gone Away,” a song with special meaning to her son, Mathew, was playing in memory of his mom. Michelle is survived by her son, Mathew Hetherton; siblings, Jackie (Rod) Hunter, Mike (Tammy) Hetherton and Nancy (Steven) Heatherton/Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Michelle was predeceased by her paternal and maternal grandparents, and parents, John and Dorothy Hetherton; and sister, Brenda Donauer-Fox. Michelle completed her high school in Swift Current. She continued her secondary schooling and was employed in Edmonton, and the Edmonton area, before returning to settle in Swift Current with son, Mathew. Michelle was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and an active member of the Mental Health Association Clubhouse Community. Here, she explored her natural artistic talent and love of music. Most importantly, Michelle found a community of acceptance and friendship, often telling family she felt truly blessed to have their support. Michelle will be forever missed by son, Mathew, family and friends. In memory of Michelle, donations may be made to the Mental Health Association.
