OBITUARY
Maureen E. MacKenzie
March 24, 1936 – January 14, 2019
MACKENZIE, Maureen Elaine – It is with profound sadness the family announce the passing of their dear loved one Maureen MacKenzie whom God called home on January 14 2019 at age 82. Born in Graywood Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Enos and Bertha (Hubley) Fancy. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and a member of the A.C.W. In earlier years she worked for the Annapolis Spectator and Bridgetown Monitor relocating to Dartmouth working for the Dartmouth Free Press as a linotype operator. She is survived by two sons Tom (Sandra) MacKenzie of Dartmouth NS and Robert (Kim) MacKenzie Grand Bay-Westfield NB including eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Allan (Sally) Hubley, Lequille, NS; two very special sister-in-laws Elizabeth Foston, Dartmouth NS and Madelyn (John) Ross of Mississauga Ontario and many nieces and nephews. Maureen felt blessed to have enjoyed tremendous friendship with her best friends Betty Foston, Fern Stone and Rita Grentz. Maureen is predeceased by first husband James Whalen (1960) of Windsor NS and by second husband Ronald MacKenzie (2015), daughter Shelley R. MacKenzie and great grandson Aiden. Cremation has taken place and no visitation by request. Special thanks to the staff and their wonderful nurses of Dartmouth General 4 East. Celebration of life will be held in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland Street on Saturday January 19 at 1:00 PM with reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
