DEAN, Matthew Jeffrey
After a valiant struggle with ALS, Matthew Dean died, Friday, January 11, 2019, surrounded by loving family at North Bay Regional Health Centre. He was forty years of age. Matthew was the beloved husband of Gemma F. (Wolfe) and loving father of Carter and Harrison. He was the dear son of “Betty” Elizabeth J. (Heasman) of North Bay and Thomas G. Dean of Barrie and brother of Joshua (Sarah), Andrew (Andrea), and Alyssa (Russ) all of North Bay. Matthew was a cherished grandson of Winona and the Austen Heasman. He will deeply missed and fondly remembered by his 8 nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. Matthew taught school in Taiwan and Russia as well as Canada. He was a traveller and a teacher of the world. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced later in the spring of 2019. If desired, donations may be made in Matthew’s memory to his children’s trust fund, the Trillium Gift of Life Network, or ALS Society of Canada.
