Granata, Mario Sergio Passed away suddenly, surrounded by his loving family, at the Hamilton General Hospital, on January 28, 2019 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Adele
(nee Bertozzi) for 50 years. Loving father of Alfredo and Wendy, Gianpaul, Mario and Michele (Mike). Proud and loving grandfather of Ava and Lola.
Mario was born December 9, 1939 in Amantea, Calabria, Italy and was the beloved son of the late Alfredo and the late Maria Granata. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Marisa Coscarella of Italy, the late Flora and the late Frank Chiappetta, the late Rocco and Sarah Coscarella, the late Alessandro and Anna Granato of Italy, Frank and Sylvia Granato, the late Aida Granata, Orlando and the late Betty Giannasi, the late Guido and Marie Giannasi, the late Geni and Frank McMahon and the late Mary and Marty Martinello. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family, friends and neighbours.
Mario was the proud owner of M.G. Disposal. He was a friendly, happy guy who loved his family and wife Adele for 50 years. He especially loved his dogs Butch, Rusty and Buddy. Mario loved his floral garden but mostly his tomatoes, beans and Swiss chard which he gave most away to his family and friends. He loved socializing and could be seen at most of the Italian coffee shops and Fortino’s doing his daily routine.

Resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Sunday February 3 from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Vigil prayers on Sunday at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Mausoleum. In kindness, a Mass Card in Mario’s honour would be greatly appreciated by the family.
