RUEST, Margaret – Mrs. Margaret Rose Ruest (née Macaulay), born July 22, 1942, unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the age of 76. Much loved wife for 53 years to Ronald (Bob) Ruest. Beloved mother of Shelley McIntyre (Todd) of Monkland and Cheryl Ruest of Massena, NY. Adored grandma of Joshua and Erica McIntyre. Daughter of the late Mary and Alexander Macaulay of Massena, NY. Cherished sister of Andrew (Beverley), Ellen Macaulay, Charles (late Susan), Thomas (Linda), Mary Staten (Bill), Joseph and John (Maria). She leaves behind many cherished nephews, nieces, in-laws, and cousins. Margaret loved to talk and never met a stranger she didn’t love. She had a passion for square dancing and was a longtime member of the Swinging B’s. Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, where visitation will be held on Tuesday January 29, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be held in Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 321 Tollgate Road East, on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at 11:00AM. Cremation to follow. If so desired donations in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
