Margaret Melista Vincent-Fudge
February 19, 1937 – November 20, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Melista Vincent-Fudge (nee Vincent) of Triton, NL, age 81, announces her passing, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, NL.
Margaret was born February 19, 1937 in Pilley’s Island, (across the bar) NL to James and Idella Vincent. During her teenage years, when her Mom had retired for the night, Margaret would cook up a scoff and take it upstairs and they would enjoy a good feed. Frances was left to clean up the dishes. At age thirteen, when her mother went to Twillingate for the arrival of her sister Donna, Margaret was left in charge of looking after the family.
Margaret found the love of her life, John Vincent. Even though it was a long distance (from Pilley’s Island to Triton) relationship due to transportation issues, they knew they were meant for each other.
Soon family became the corner stone of their lives and Margaret made sure that her children didn’t go without. She knew how to manage well and was never without a dollar.
Margaret always had time for fun and was never without a story or joke and she was even a good artist (LOL).
Margaret was predeceased by John in January 24, 1986 and was widowed for 15 years. In November 2000 she married Arthur Fudge and enjoyed 15 wonderful years together.
From working in Warr’s Store in Pilley’s Island to selling Avon and working in the Triton Fish Plant, it goes without saying, Margaret was a hard worker.
Margaret was always concerned for others, even during the last few weeks of her life, she was always asking how so and so was doing. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by a crowd and was more satisfied when they were all eating. The last six years, she looked forward to the Friday night supper gatherings. Even though we used paper plates and plastic cutlery, she made sure that the dish washer, Major John, washed the cutlery because it was a dirty waste to throw them away.
She is predeceased by her 1st husband John Vincent; 2nd husband Arthur Fudge; parents James and Idella Vincent; brother Ricky Vincent; son-in-law Derrick Simms.
Margaret leaves to remember and cherish the wonderful life she lived, her daughters Karen Simms, Maunda (Laurence) Fudge, Pansy (Bill) Quinn, Judy (Randy) Stevenson, Paula (Tom) Heath, Theresa (Dean) Burton; sons Jerry (Nola) Vincent, Randy (Mary) Vincent; grandchildren Cain, Jane, Lance, Rayna, Raven, Ryan, Nikki, Nathalie, Matthew, Jonathan, Julia, Tim, Tyler, Chuck, Chelsea; great-grandchildren Morgan, Marlena, Zachary, Lexie, Keenan, Eve, Clare, Spencer, Brandon, Alice, Clay, Ethan, Addison, Allie, Abigail, Jake; sisters Phyllis Vincent, Frances Goulding, Donna (John) Goulding, Inez (Peter) Blackmore; brother Cluney (Fern) Vincent; sister-in-law Daphne Vincent, as well as many other family members and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Forever In Our Hearts – Gone But Not Forgotten!
The Home Going service was held from the Salvation Army Citadel, Triton on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 am with Majors John and Donna Goulding officiating, assisted by Majors Terry and Roxann Feltham. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Triton. Pallbearers were grandsons Ryan Fudge, Lance Simms, Tim Heath, Tyler Heath, Matthew Stevenson, Chuck Burton, Jon Vincent. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
