MATHESON Maizie Ann 82 , A resident of the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home and formerly of Petit de Grat passed away Monday December 17, 2018 at her residence.
Maize was born in Truro and was adopted by the late Willie Joseph and Bertha May Samson.
She will be remembered for her love of family and her sense of humour, she was a real firecracker. Maizie never left the house without making sure her lipstick was just right and that she was wearing her jewelry; we will never forget her bold sense of fashion. She enjoyed trying her luck at Bingo or on a scratch ticket. When Maize was of better health she enjoyed walking, one of her favorite stops was the Fleur de Lis Restaurant, where she enjoyed meeting up with some of the many people she knew. She was a resident of Sunset Manor for 14 years, where she made many friends and always welcomed visitors and for the last year she was a resident of the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home.
She is survived by her Children Thrina (Sylvie), Edmundston NB; Bernice Fougere, Petit de Grat; Leroy (Linda), D’Escousse; grandchildren April (Jay Kehoe), Chantelle , Lindsey (Michael Stone), Joe (Madison Armstrong), Kayla, Kimberly (Mark Skinner), Kayle (Glen Mauger), Cody and Paul Ross; greatgrandchildren Konor, Andrew, Aiden, Jacob, Karter, Emma, Bradley, Wyatt, Joshua, Alyssa, Keelan, Klayton and son in law Earl Gibson.
She was predeceased by her daughter Jean Ross , son in law Walter Fougere and grandson in law John Hinkley
