Obituary

Edith Sabine Kreissl left us peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019. She was born on March 30, 1930 in Wilhelmshaven, Germany.
Edith was a joyful, compassionate, and loving mother and mother-in-law, Oma, sister, spouse, aunt and friend. She would strike up conversations with strangers wherever she went and within a short time become long-term friends. Her laughter lit up the room and she always appreciated when people spoke from their heart. Edith had a life-long passion for music and an astounding singing voice. She enjoyed gardening and was a lover of nature, especially flowers and the Rocky Mountains. She was highly skilled at cooking mouth watering dishes, both traditional German meals and new recipes she had taught herself.
At the center of her life were her friends and family. Edith cherished Werner, the “love of her life”, and all the adventures they shared together. She was a fiercely proud mother and adoring Oma, always willing to sing an evening lullaby or play that extra round of Uno. She was able to rise above her own situation and spread sunshine wherever she went.
Edith will be deeply missed by her beloved son Vaughn, daughter-in-law Sarah, grandsons Arlo and Izen, sister Edeltraut, brother-in-law Hans-jurgen, niece Sonja, nephew Andrew, as well as her extended family and friends who loved her dearly. She will be forever in our hearts. She was predeceased by her parents, Anchen and Franz Gross, sisters Martha and Karla, and loving husband Werner.
