Joyce Milton (nee Blackburn) of Calgary, Alberta, passed away in her home on January 20, 2019 at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Esther and Allan Blackburn; and her husband, John (Jack) Milton. Joyce is survived by her two children, Brian and Beverly (Ron); sisters, Margaret (Mike) and Helen (Fraser); her grandchildren, Jason, Katherine (Mark), Courtney, John, Curtis, and Kimberly; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Jack. Joyce was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where she met her one and only love, Jack Milton. They wed May 1955 and moved to Calgary in July 1956. For greater than 20 years, Joyce spent her career at Cooper Energy Services before retiring in 1996. Much of her time was devoted to volunteering her talents of crafting. Annually, she travelled to quilting and crafting shows with family. Joyce devoted time to the Kerby Centre, within a quilt club, and a local church where she contributed to collective projects and charities. Her joy and talents led to lasting friendships, as well as cultivating creativity in her grandchildren in various ways. The legacy of Joyce’s generosity, tenacious character, and her contagious sense of humour will live on through her family. She was so very loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Joyce has been reunited with the love of her life, Jack Milton.
