Joyce passed peacefully with family by her side at the Souris Hospital on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 86 years of age.
Loving mother to Cheryl Norton (Craig), Boyd (Carmel), Darren (Sheri), Valerie MacKenzie and mother-in-law to Anna MacKenzie. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Natalie (Andrew), Travis (Katrina), Candice (Rob), Curtis (Alex), Justin (Melody), Dylan (Sarah), Avery, Connor, Patrick, Cara, Thomas, Mia, Lauren, Andrew and 8 great-grandchildren. Survived by brother Edison Aitken (Margie), sister-in-law Rita Aitken and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Claude MacKenzie, her parents Aubrey and Sadie Aitken, sons Carter and Craig MacKenzie, daughter-in-law Heather Cheverie and brother Jackie Aitken.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home with visiting hours on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the Bay Fortune United Church on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00am. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the Bay Fortune United Church Cemetery Fund or the Eastern Kings Health Foundation.
