Jody “Jod”Jeremy Barton
1975-2019
Barton, Jody Jeremy
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our
beloved son, Jody “Jod” Barton. He died in Moncton NB on
January 3, 2019. Born in Minto, NB he was the loving son of Carey and
Linda Barton.
Jody was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP) but he never let that
stop him. Jody was loved by all who came to know him; he
couldn’t speak or communicate in the traditional sense, but
he was kind, gentle and very determined. Jody graduated high school
and worked hard for the chance to live on his own. He had a strong
faith in God and that was his sustaining anchor through life. His
ready smile, big laugh and wonderful sense of humour always made
others feel better. Every morning you would find him at his computer
enjoying deep spiritual discussions with Mom and Dad or simply
commenting on a recent post. For now, Jod is with his Lord, walking,
speaking and smiling until we all meet again.
Survived by his forever caring parents, Carey
“Bear” and Linda Barton; aunts, Carol Campbell (Harold),
Gloria Sypher (Allen), Debbie Wilson (Gary), Susan Skytte
(Creg), Celia LeBlanc, Lynn Barton, uncles, Danny Barton
(Theresa), Tommy Barton (Sharon), Terry Barton (Janet), Norman Barton
Jr. (Betty Anne), Calvin Barton.
Jody was predeceased by his paternal and maternal
grandparents; as well as aunts and uncles.
There will be no visitation at this time. A Celebration of
life will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019
at the Moncton Wesleyan Church in the Life Center at 6:00 PM. Rev.
David Steeves will officiate. For those who wish, memorial tributes
may be made to Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the charity of
the donor’s choice.
