1934-2019
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joan Yvonne
(Parker) Maki announces her passing which occurred on Thursday,
January 17, 2019 at Kennebec Manor. Born in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, she
was a daughter of the late Harry and Ruby Parker.
Joan is survived by her daughter Caroline Cosman (Randy);
sons Kenneth and James (Sheila) Maki; sister Mary Chambers; brothers
Larry, Allen, and Owen Parker; grandchildren Talicia (Zack) and Devin
Dryden; great-grandson Logan Miller as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Aside from her parents, Joan is predeceased by her husband,
Harold Maki, and her brother, Don Parker.
Joan served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1953
– 1956. She then attended the Peterborough Civic Hospital
School of Nursing working at several general & physciatric
hospitals during her schooling.
Joan loved knitting and baking. She was an active member in
her church, St. Paul’s. She loved to travel with
Harold.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral
Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Saint John, N.B. (849-2119).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00
PM. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home Chapel on
Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Donations in Joan’s
memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a
charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be
