On Saturday, January 12, 2019 Mrs. Joan Hofmann of Wainwright, Alberta passed away at her home at Points West Living at the age of 94 years. Joan is survived by her loving family; children, Shirley (Terry) Pratt of Wainwright, Harry (Yvonne) Hofmann of Tottenham, Ontario; two grandchildren, Angela (Kyle) Watt of Innisfail, Ontario, Greg (Paige Fratoni) Hofmann of Hamilton, Ontario; four great grandchildren, Mason, Benjamin, Adalynn, Ayden; three sisters-in-law, Paula Beutler, Elfie Kendall,… Read More » Betty (Jim) Holden; two brothers-in-law, Ed (Mary) Hofmann, Elias Smutzko. She was predeceased by her husband Bill. Joan was a proud World War 2 veteran and spent much time as a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion in both Calgary and Wainwright. Joan had many hobbies and interests which included, sewing, reading and opera. She was the family historian and picture taking was a passion of hers. Joan was also a avid world traveler and visited many destinations in her later years. A Legion Farewell Ceremony will be conducted at a later date in the Field of Honour at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta.
