Joan Graham Parker August 20 1935 to January 21 2019

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Miller Centre Palliative Care Unit. Predeceased by her first husband Andrew C. Crosbie, husband John R. Parker, her sister Cynthia Landrigan, and parents Bernard and Grace Parsons.
Leaving to cherish wonderful memories are her children Alexander (Beverley Dawe), Robert (Elizabeth Torraville), Timothy (Sherrie Myers), Cynthia (John Allan), and grandchildren Christopher, Andrew, Laura, Shauna, Alyssa, JP, Katherine, and Alex, as well as great-grandchild Benjamin.
Joan was very involved in the community. She was first President of the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital Auxiliary in 1967. She was also involved in organizing Curling Events in the 1970’s and was one of the first female Board Members for The St. John’s Board of Trade.
Special thanks to Jim and Margret Bruce and Jo Anne Peraz for their care and support over the years. Appreciation is extended as well to the Community Care Nurses and Dr. Andrew Hutton.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, January 23 from 7 – 9 pm, and Thursday, January 24 from 10 am – 12 noon. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with inurnment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
