Ivan’s Obituary
Surrounded by his family, the death of Murray Ivan Hayden occurred peacefully at Carleton Manor on October 30, 2018. Ivan was born on October 26, 1921 in Somerville, NB, the son of the late Frank and Grace (Plummer) Hayden.
Ivan was predeceased by his wife, Carrie, with whom he shared seventy -five years of love and marriage. Ivan is survived by four sons, Robert (Elaine) of Sooke BC, Richard (Lynne) of Scottsdale AZ, Brian (Susan) of Woodstock NB, and Brent (Pamela) of Lake City FL, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great- grandchildren, sister in law Greta Fream, of Calgary AB, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Samuel and his wife Emma, sister Dorothy McBride and her husband James, sister-in-law Irma Parker and her husband Donald, brother-in-law, John Fream, granddaughter, Amanda Reynolds and great granddaughter, Grace Reynolds.
The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Carleton Manor for the outstanding care and compassion shown to Ivan while he made his home there.
Visitation will be held at the Saint James United Church, Woodstock, NB on Saturday, Nov 3, 2018 from 12 pm-1 pm. The Funeral service will begin at 1 pm at the Saint James United Church. Rev. Canon Walter Williams will be officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather at the church at 12 p.m. for a time to share memories prior to the funeral. Please join us for a celebration of Ivan’s life immediately following the funeral, at Connell House, 128 Connell Street.
Interment to take place at a later date at St. Mark’s Church Cemetery at Jackson Falls, NB
