Henry Otis Green
1922-2019
Mr. Henry Otis Green, 97 of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan, NB
passed away at The Grand Manan Nursing Home, on Thursday, January 24,
2019.
Otis was the son of the late Gleason and Lulu (Wilcox) Green.
He grew up in a large family on Grand Manan. Otis went to work at the
Saint John Dry Dock as a welder, on his return back home, to
Grand Manan, he went fishing; afterwards he was the Shop teacher at
The Grand Manan High School for 37 years. He then opened Grand Manan
Boats, building boats until his mid-eighties. Odis loved spending time
on his boat, at his camp, hunting and fishing. Otis was also
one of the founding members of the Grand Manan Museum, he will truly
be missed.
Otis is survived by his daughter, Donna MacPherson (Rob), of
Ingalls Head, three grandchildren, Monica Nassan (Stephen) of
Quispamsis, NB Lindsay Griffin (Justin), of Grand Harbour, Shawna
MacPherson, Of Ingalls Head; six great grandchildren; three great
great grandchildren; two sisters, Mona Ross of Toronto, ON, Rowena
Small of Woodward’s Cove, and many nieces,
nephews.
Otis is predeceased by his parents, his wife Marjorie (Chase)
Green, one son Roland (Butch) Green, one grandson Randy MacPherson,
two sisters Glenita Hettrick and Queenie Green; three brothers,
Pearly, Donnie and Ivan Green.
There will be visitation on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from
2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ells Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on
Sunday, January 27, 2019 from Community Life Church at 1:00 PM with
Rev. Karl Ingersoll officiating. Interment will take place at Maple
Grove Cemetery in the spring.
Memorial donations may be made to The Grand Manan Museum,
Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
