Obituary for
Gladys Vieno
The family announces with great sorrow her sudden passing on Friday January 4, 2019 at the Timmins and District Hospital. Gladys was the beloved wife of 60 years of the late Henry Vieno (deceased 2016). Loving mother of Aurel (Henrietta) of Timmins and Marcel (Eija) of Cambridge, ON, and predeceased by her beautiful and loving daughter Lucy Vieno. Cherished memere and grandma to Melissa, Kevin, Sarah, Julie, Amanda, Kayla, Adam, Jacob, Michael and Debbie. She was also great-grandma to 4 wonderful great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers Robert (Rita) of Timmins and Art (Carolyn) of Sarnia; her sisters-in-law, Agnes Hebert (Pierre), Cecile LeBlanc (Guillaume) and Rose Demers (Fern), her brothers-in-law Daniel Vieno (Helene) and Larry Vieno (Sylvie) as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Bertha Vallier, her sister Carol (Donald) and by her parents-in-law Jeanne and Martin Vieno.
Gladys will now be joining her husband and daughter in heaven. She spent her life caring for her children and husband, staying by his side for so many years during his illness with Multiple Sclerosis. Gladys met Henry when they were young children while Mom was making “mud pies” and Dad liked them and many years later were wed in 1958. She spent her entire life in Timmins. Mom had a big heart and not a selfish bone in her body, putting others before herself through her entire life. She will be sorely missed. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 8, 2019 at 11am in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends on Monday January 7, 2019 from 2- 4 pm and 7-9 pm at LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Online condolences or donations can be made at www.lessardstephnes.com
