Obituary
Helen passed away unexpectedly but peacefully with family present at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Sunday November 25th 2018 at the age of 89.
She was born in Clearbrook, Yarrow BC (Strawberry Hill) to Helen (Dyck) and Jacob Fast.
In later years the family moved to Kelowna where she met and married Daniel Sdrogefske, and together they had 3 children, Dwight Sdrogefske (Gerry), Nola McLaren (Wayne) and Kim Sdrogefske (Mark), 4 grandchildren, Tyson McLaren (Holly) and Curtis McLaren (Casey), Blake and Craig Sdrogefske, as well as 2 great granddaughters, Lilly and Aliya McLaren.
She is survived by her younger sister Dorothe Fenwick of Kelowna, BC and Predeceased by her oldest sister Mary Andrew (Les) and her 3 brothers, Jacob (Jake) (Muriel), Norman (Norm), (Gerti), Henry (Hank), also predeceased by her 1st husband of 43 years, Daniel (Danny) Sdrogefske and her second husband Gilbert (Gil) Findlay of 14 years and her son-in-law E. Wayne McLaren, nieces Diana, Lori and nephew Jeff.
She is survived by her 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. All of whom will miss her humor, wisdom and memories dearly.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and adult step children.
Helen has been cremated and requested there be no funeral service. The family will gather at a later date to hold a private celebration of her life. There will be a plaque placed on the Memorial book in the Kimberley Cemetery in her remembrance.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses who attended her for 2 days at EKRH, both in Emergency and ICU, they gratefully made her passing more comfortable for her
