Obituary of Ernest Loder
Passed peacefully away on January 14, 2019 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Ernest Hubert Loder at the age of 90 years. Ernest was a long-time member of the Badger Fire Department. He is predeceased by his parents, David and Lillian Loder (Pippy); brothers, Douglas and George; and sister, Phoebe. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 65 years, Eileen; daughters, Shirley (Clyde), Amy, and Karen (Raymond); son, Brian (Lorelei); grandchildren, Dana (Tim), Roger, Jessica, Brianna, and Brayden; great-grandson, Clark; as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Tony Roberts will conduct the funeral service from Faith Covenant Church in Badger at 1pm on Friday, January 18, 2019. Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Badger. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor.
At the age of 13 years, Ern moved from North Harbour, Placentia Bay to Badger with his mother and family. He started working with AND Company at the age of 15 years. Later, he went to work with Abitibi and continued to work there for 46 years until his retirement in 1990. He met the love of his life, Eileen Noel, and 2 years later on June 17, 1953 they were married. This past year they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Ernest and Eileen started a family in 1954, and were blessed with four children.
