Obituary of Emilie Wegner
WEGNER, Emilie
(née Brehm)
January 30, 1932 – January 22, 2019
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Emilie on the morning of Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She passed away peacefully at Parkside Extendicare, where she was a resident for the past four years. Emilie was born in the Wolhynian region of Eastern Europe on January 30, 1932. She was born to parents Gustav and Maria Brehm, with a large family of nine brothers and sisters. Emilie immigrated to Canada in 1953, where she worked at Frank’s Café in Regina. It was here that she met her future husband Reinhold Wegner, whom she married on October 3, 1954 and were blessed with their only child, Doris (Shank) in 1958. Emilie loved to cook, bake, garden, knit, and later travel the world with her husband. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. Emilie is survived by her husband Reinhold; daughter Doris (Rene) Shank; grandchildren Morgan (Eli) Dingle and Adam (Stephanie) Shank; great-grandchildren, Keira, Aria, Aston, and Shelby. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Extendicare for the love and care they provided to Emilie over the past four years. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Donations in remembrance of Emilie may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Avenue, Unit C, Regina, SK S4R 5E3.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Emilie
