Elizabeth Eileen Swim 2019

Elizabeth Eileen Swim
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of our beautiful Mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Eileen Swim, on
January 16, 2019. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter
of the late William Rozee and Elizabeth Jean (Burrows) Rogers. Mom was
a compassionate, caring person who loved her children, grandchildren
and great grandchildren. She kept our family up-to-date on the daily
news and welcomed a discussion on currents affairs. She had a great
sense of humour, which we will miss. We are proud of Mom’s
accomplishments and feel grateful to have had the benefit of her
thoughtful advice and wisdom. She is survived by her children: Melanie
G. Swim, Calgary, AB, John (Jack) W. Swim (Karen), Lockeport, NS, and
Elisabeth (Lisa) MacLeod (David), Riverview, NB; her grandchildren
Matthew, Ryan (Melissa) and Michael; her great grandchildren, who knew
her as “GG”, Aubrey and Isla. Mom was predeceased by her
husband of 58 years, John F. Swim, her sister Phyllis Patten, and her
brothers, George, Jack, Walter, William and Douglas (Rogers). A
private family graveside service will be held at a later date. As an
animal lover Mom requested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to
the local animal shelter, Pet Projects in Shelburne, Nova Scotia
(www.petprojects.ca).
Donations can also be made to the First Responders at the Lockeport
Town Office. As a family, we would like to thank Mom’s
neighbours and friends. Their support and kindness was a gift to Mom
and to our family.
Arrangements entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home, 330
Whitepine Rd. Riverview, NB.
