Edward Alfred Arnold, age 93, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Born in Mildmay, son of the late Frederick and Norma (Lobsinger) Arnold. Ed was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie (Scott) Arnold, and he is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Latchman) Arnold. Proud father of Linda (Ron) Steckly, Kathy Guylee and Doug (Marlene) Arnold. Much loved grandfather to Michelle, Scott, Sara, Cynthia, Steven, Jennifer, Angela, Jeffrey and great-grandfather to Kirsten, Jake, Jordyn, Kyle, Joey, Koen, Hannah, Seraphia, Victoria, Ariana, Jack, Lauren, Julia, Mya and Aliyah. Ed will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Frank Pierce and his many nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank all the help provided by good friends Jim and Maria Halliday. Ed was the last surviving member of the Arnold family. Family and friends may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (Visitation will take place at the church from 10-11:00 a.m.) As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com.
