Tremblett, Edmund Joseph, 87, of
Truro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday,
January 1, 2019, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro,
surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born in Grand Falls Windsor,
NL, son of the late Joseph and Matilda (Downey) Tremblett. Ed is
survived by his loving wife Irene; daughter, Josephine (Ron) Budgell;
son, Ed (Nellie) Tremblett; step-sons, Zane Fraser, Wade (Debbie)
Fraser, Shaun (Lilia) Fraser; sisters, Marcella, Matilda; brothers,
Robert (Marilyn), Frank (Doreen); brother-in-law, Wayne (Vivian)
Giffin; sisters-in-law, Donalda (Ernie) Hafey, Cecelia Nolan. Besides
his parents, Ed was predeceased by his first wife Anne; brothers, Gus,
Joe; sister Marie. Ed’s grandchildren were very special to
him and he loved them dearly. His great-grandchildren added a twinkle
to his sparkling eye. Ed loved his family and was involved daily in
their lives. He enjoyed his time playing golf, and sharing a game of
cards with friends. Ed and Irene were contented snow birds, and
enjoying many winters in Florida. Ed was a veteran of the Korean
Conflict, and served his country with the RCR, and the RCAMC as a
medic. Ed was a conductor with the CNR for most of his life. He was
also a local businessman for many years. Ed was a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion Branch # 26 Truro, former Grand Knight of Msgr. Finn
Council 5904, Bishop’s Falls, and a long service member of
Fourth Degree of Knights of Columbus. Arrangements have been entrusted
to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, from
where visitation will be held 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm Thursday, January 3,
immediately followed by a legion tribute service, conducted by the
Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26 Truro. Funeral service at 2 pm, with
Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Reception to follow in the
funeral home. The late Mr. Tremblett will then be transferred to
Central Funeral Homes, Bishop’s Falls Location,
Bishop’s Falls NL, where visitation will be held Sunday,
January 6, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral
service will be held 12 pm Monday, January 7, at Sacred Heart Parish,
Bishop’s Falls NL, with interment to follow in the church
cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of
