Obituary of Edison Skerry
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edison Herbert Skerry, age 74 of New Ross. He passed away peacefully in his home with his loving wife by his side. He was the son of (Annie) Ella Naugler and the late Russell Skerry.
Edison worked in many occupations during his life, a truck driver, motor man on the oil rig (travelling around the world while working on the oil rigs), survived the sinking of the Rowan Gorilla 1, a welder by trade, worked for CanExel. Edison was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #79, New Ross.
He was proud of the accomplishments in his life, especially his family, friends, home and cottage. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. In later years, he also enjoyed going for drives and seeing his many friends and progressions in his community. As his health deteriorated, he took pleasure in the quiet enjoyments, such as watching the birds, especially the pheasants in the Charles’ Mill Yard, and wildlife.
Edison is survived by his loving wife, Anna; son Edison Gordon (Tanya); daughter Tanya (Michael); grandchildren Felicia (JT); Luke (Brianna); Mitchell; Elicia and great-grandaughter Hazel; mother Ella; brother Russie (Betty); and sister Virginia (Michael).
He was predeceased by his father Russell; step-father Elias; brothers George and Charles.
Edison will be lovingly remembered with the upmost respect. His memories will live on in our hearts forever.
