Edgar Ted Caines January 23 2019

After a short battle with cancer Ted (Edgar) Caines, aged 73, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, January 23 surrounded by his loving family. Ted is predeceased by his parents Jack and Sadie Caines; sister Annie; niece Heather McGrath and nephew Blair Greening. He is lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 50 years Ros (nee Blackwood); sons Jarrett (Lynette) and Chad (Jackie); grandsons Brennan and Ciaran; sister Sandra Taylor (Gus deceased); brothers Tom (Ruth) and John (Nancy), and host of Blackwood in-laws. He is also remembered by special friends Warren and Dolores Puddester and partner in crime Glenn Greening; also, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. After retiring from the SJRFD with 25 years of service Ted took on a one-month position at Battlefield Equipment at Tom’s suggestion; His multitude of skills turned that one month into 20 years. Ted was well known for his love of wine making which he freely shared with friends and family alike. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 26, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Ted’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada and Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
